The Bagelry in Bellingham, Washington

I keep finding places in Bellingham to find great vegan food! The Bagelry is my newest discovery.

The Bagelry has been around for 27 years. They are open every day of the week and serve breakfast, lunch, coffee and snacks. They claim to produce the best bagels in the Northwest. The bagels are made in the time-honored tradition that is hard to find today even in New York. They do not contain additives or preservatives.

All of their bagels are vegan except for the “egg” bagels. Vegan options include a bagel with peanut butter and jelly, a bagel with hummus, eggless omelette (potatoes, onions, red peppers, spicy crumbled tofu), tofu scramble (red peppers, potato, mushroom, and onion), hummus sandwich (lettuce, tomatoes, onions), and the vegan soup of the day. I follow The Bagelry on facebook here. They post the vegan soup of the day everyday. Past vegan soups include Roasted Garlic Lentil, Homestyle Split Pea, Black Bean, Curried Split Pea, Minestrone, 3 Bean Chili, and Tofu Gumbo. Bagels include plain, sesame, poppy, pumpernickel, cinnamon-raisin, garlic, onion, everything, salt, wheat, blueberry and sourdough. The Bagelry also offers soy milk for their drinks. If you want your bagel toasted make sure to let them know!

Make sure you bring cash or a check because they do not accept cards.

Kyle and I both had the everything bagel toasted with hummus. We also had the black bean tomato soup. It was very good! I am excited to go back and try different soups and their other vegan breakfast options.

  1. YUM! I must remember this place if I am ever in Bham..we could totally chat over coffee and a bagel! I am starting to like the smaller shops that only accept cash or checks and are local to the town. They always make delicious food.

  2. I would love to go to The Bagelry with you. Let me know if you are ever in Bham:) I also like local businesses. That’s one of the reasons why we moved here. Doesn’t make sense that I am working for Fred Meyer:(
